Jason, Scott and the Shirley South Conservatives are hard at work for you. We make sure our residents voices are heard in the Town Hall, and make sure they feel represented. Whether it's planning, roads or anything else please contact us.

Jason and Scott hold their surgery on the first Saturday of the month (except January and August) in Shirley Library from 10:00 to 11:00am.

Jason has been a local Councillor in Shirley for 16 years and lived in Croydon for over 30. He had a 20 year career in general management before getting involved in local politics and has served as Chair of a local charity as well as working at a local homeless shelter for 10 years.

Living in Croydon all of my life has instilled a strong sense of passion for Croydon and its future. I have always been active in many of the local campaigns and projects, growing up in an area which prides itself on its Community spirit, and the ability to show a united front against issues that are important to the local residents.

In 2023, the Boundary Commission for England announced its final recommendations for new Parliamentary Constituencies in England, including here in Croydon. Croydon East is one of the new constituencies, largely made up of the former Croydon Central constituency, but excluding Croydon Town Centre.

Tony Newman - under whose leadership Croydon Council went bankrupt - is allowed back into Croydon Labour after his suspension was reportedly lifted earlier this month.What's more, it has been revealed that their Mayoral candidate is a Newman campaigner and supporter.Croydon Labour haven’t changed.

Tram Disruption: 21-29 October

No trams will run east from East Croydon from 21 October to 29 October 2023 and normal service will resume on Monday 30 October. The closure will affect all services from East Croydon to Beckenham Junction, Elmers End and New Addington.   Replacement bus services Two replacement bus service

Residents will be aware that the Sandrock site on Upper Shirley Road has been continuing through its protracted planning history.

Water Leak repair closes Oaks Road

Oaks Road will be closed from today until Friday 18th May due to emergency repairs on a water leak. Oaks Road is closed between the junction with Coombe Lane and Coombe Farm as shown on the picture. A diversion is in place over Shirley Hills.

Cllr. Jason Cummings: We share the anger and frustration of residents

The response to this petition was in no way a surprise. We share the anger and frustration of residents at the proposed council tax rise. It is not something that we want to do but it is still the best of the options available to us. This council has a legal duty to produce a balanced budget.

Council Performance report at Cabinet

At the Cabinet meeting on Monday evening this week a report was presented with the grand title of ‘Finance, performance and risk performance report’ (yes, really).
