No trams will run east from East Croydon from 21 October to 29 October 2023 and normal service will resume on Monday 30 October.

The closure will affect all services from East Croydon to Beckenham Junction, Elmers End and New Addington.

Replacement bus services

Two replacement bus services will be in operation throughout the trams closure.

Bus service T2 will serve all tram stops between East Croydon and Beckenham Junction Via Elmers End.

Bus service T3 will serve all tram stops between East Croydon and New Addington.

The replacement buses begin and end at the same times as the standard tram timetable.

Weekday and Saturday services will run every 10 minutes between 0700 and 2100 and every 15 minutes before and after those times. On Sundays the buses will run every 15 minutes.

Additional works

While the tram network is closed TfL are taking the opportunity to undertake a number of other works.  This will help to avoid further future closures.

These works include:

  • Installing lights in the Sandilands tunnels
  • Resurfacing works on a section of Addiscombe Road
  • Platform works such as painting and paving
  • Trackside works such repairing or replacing fencing, painting and paving
  • General maintenance such as painting and lighting

I attended the Sanderstead Recreation Ground Litter Pick with my ward colleague Cllr Helen Redfern.  We have seen a marked difference in the amount of litter dropped in the park which is good to note.
