Shirley South
Cabinet Member for Streets and Environment
  • Councillors

Living in Croydon all of my life has instilled a strong sense of passion for Croydon and its future. I have always been active in many of the local campaigns and projects, growing up in an area which prides itself on its Community spirit, and the ability to show a united front against issues that are important to the local residents. I would like the whole of Croydon to have the same sense of Pride in their community, and would strive as a Councillor to expand this to all areas of Croydon.

I am very excited to have been made the Shadow Cabinet Member for Sustainable Croydon! It is more important than ever, that we as a Council, and community take pragmatic and urgent steps to help improve our environment.

But as a Council it is also our responsibility to ensure the community comes along with us, and welcomes any change, and not forcing bad, ill thought out schemes on to communities no matter what the consequences, as we have seen with the poor implementation of the LTN's across the borough!
