Friends of South Croydon Recreation Grounds Meeting

Today I met with some of the members from the Friends of South Croydon Rec, together with one of the ward Councillors Cllr Danielle Denton.

We discussed a wide range of issues, including what support they need from the council to help improve the fantastic community green space for all to enjoy. I have requested that a follow up meeting happens in the near future, to discuss some actions and objectives in the immediate short term.

We as a council are obviously restricted what we can do, due to the financial mess we have found our self in, inherited from the previous labour administration.

I have now met over 35 of the 47 friends of groups we have in Croydon, with the aim of meeting them all at least once.

I want to help rebuild the broken trust which has been festering over recent years, due to the years of neglect and lack of appreciation shown to them from the previous Labour council.
