Today I had a meeting with a fantastic Butterfly Conservation group, who are already working with Croydon Council, but I wanted to discuss how we can further promote Butterfly conservation, which of course will also benefit other Pollinators in Croydon and across the capital as a whole. It is important that Croydon is proactive and helping develop a butterfly highway, closing gaps in our borough wherever possible.
We are currently developing a wildflower programme, which I would like to tie together the efforts of Butterfly conservation works already happening in the borough, mostly within our park spaces, but I would like similar efforts given to our highways green spaces, which is what I am aiming for the wildflower programme.
