South Norwood Country Park

Today I had a meeting with a fantastic Butterfly Conservation group, who are already working with Croydon Council, but I wanted to discuss how we can further promote Butterfly conservation, which of course will also benefit other Pollinators in Croydon and across the capital as a whole. It is important that Croydon is proactive and helping develop a butterfly highway, closing gaps in our borough wherever possible.

We are currently developing a wildflower programme, which I would like to tie together the efforts of Butterfly conservation works already happening in the borough, mostly within our park spaces, but I would like similar efforts given to our highways green spaces, which is what I am aiming for the wildflower programme.

For further details of this trial please visit the councils website:

Deputy Cabinet Member for Customer Service

I am proud to have called New Addington my home for the last 15 years. My husband has been here for 40 and his family since the new estate was built. I love the sense of community here. This is our own little town and I’m really proud of it.

WATCH: One Year in Office

Wednesday, 10 May, 2023

Today is the one year anniversary of my election as the first ever Executive Mayor of Croydon.

I will always be grateful for the support that Croydon's voters gave me in that election. I have never taken this support for granted.
