Robert moved with his family to Croydon in 2006 and has been a councillor since 2018. Originally from an engineering background, he later specialised in projects to improve the safety, efficiency and quality of services.

Robert brings professional experience in decision-making and project management to his work as a councillor, helping to deliver practical solutions for local residents. He has served as a school governor at several Croydon schools and has played a leading role in community life, organising the Selsdon Community Plan, the Selsdon Christmas Market, and the recent exhibition celebrating 100 years of Selsdon.

Disgraced ex-Leader Tony Newman allowed back into Croydon Labour

Tony Newman - under whose leadership Croydon Council went bankrupt - is allowed back into Croydon Labour after his suspension was reportedly lifted earlier this month.What's more, it has been revealed that their Mayoral candidate is a Newman campaigner and supporter.Croydon Labour haven’t changed.

Attached is the brochure, a paper copy of which has been delivered to every household in Croydon. The brochure includes the Christmas and New Year recycling arrangements as well as other good information on recycling in general. 

TWO new playgrounds - Selsdon & Waddon

It was great to see happy local parents and children welcoming the two new playgrounds to Croydon which I opened this week. The Purley Way Playing Fields playground, near Croydon airport, has been given an aeroplane theme.

Selsdon councillors surgery is moving location

Selsdon councillors hold their surgery on the first Saturday of every month except January and August from 10.00 am to 11.15 am. For some time this has been at the Selsdon Centre for the Retired but as from next month this will be at the Jubilee cafe. The cafe is downstairs in the same building.

Revised parking charges

The council is consulting on a proposal for revised parking charges. There are a lot of different charges so the attached document is rather long but broadly the proposals would see shoppers benefit from one hour’s free parking at our district centres.

Opening of Men's Shed in Monks Hill

A great pleasure to be at the opening of the Men's Shed at St Francis church in Monks Hill. We had the company of both of our Mayor's who cut the tape to declare the men's shed open. Simultaneously there was the launch of cooking lessons.

Planning permission granted for redevelopment of the Selsdon garage site

Planning permission has been granted for the redevelopment of the Selsdon garage site. Details can be found on the council's planning page here and search on 230 Addington Road. Here in the picture are former councillor Helen Pollard and I in front of the building.   

Monks Hill Men’s Shed

St Francis church in Monks Hill is launching its Men’s Shed on Saturday 17th February. Men's Shed is a national movement of repair shops, targeted at men who otherwise would be hard to engage with.
