Purley pool consultation

Purley Councillors have alerted us to a further consultation on 28th November for Purley Pool. This will be of interest to many Kenley residents who would like to take advantage of the proposed new facilities.

Purley Councillors have just received the email below:

"I am writing on behalf Polaska, who is preparing a proposal for the redevelopment of 50 High Street Purley - the site of the multi-storey car park, former supermarket and leisure centre in Purley town.

We are looking to comprehensively redevelop the site to provide the following:

  • A new leisure centre and swimming pool for Purley.
  • Later living accommodation units in an attractive setting.
  • New public and private facilities including a shop, café and restaurant.
  • Publicly accessible, landscaped public square.
  • New walking route, connecting Purley Station to the high street.

After previously holding a consultation between Monday 19th June to Friday 7th July 2023, we compiled feedback and identified the concerns that were raised by stakeholders, local residents and third-party groups. The project team amended the proposals to reflect the feedback we received during our previous consultation and are now ready to share these proposals with the community. We are holding a second consultation to showcase our latest proposals and allow for all interested parties to provide feedback on the plans.

As part of the programme, we will be holding an exhibition on Tuesday 28th November between 2pm-7:30pm at Christ Church Purley, CR8 2BN. Our consultation website will also be going live on Tuesday 28th November, and can be accessed via the following link: www.purleypool.co.uk.

The consultation will run between Tuesday 28th November and Sunday 17th December, where you will have the opportunity to submit your feedback on the proposals, either via a paper feedback form or through our consultation website.

If you would like to find out more about the consultation or the Purley Pool proposals, you can do so by emailing the project team via [email protected] or calling 020 3398 1590.

We would welcome any feedback you may have and hope to see you at the exhibition."

Please take this opportunity to check out the plans and talk to representatives of the developers. You can drop in at any time between 2:00 - 7:30pm.
