Ola and his young family are local to Kenley where he has served as Councillor since 2021. He works closely with residents’ associations (KENDRA, WURA, HADRA), local Friends Groups, the local police and is a Trustee of Kenley Memorial Hall. He is committed to keeping Kenley green, safe and clean. He is proud to have played a part in securing a safer crossing on the A22, the long-awaited bus route, and improvements to local parks and highways.
As Cabinet Member for Community Safety since 2022, Ola has led a partnership approach to making Croydon safer. He led on the development and delivery of Croydon's 2022 - 2026 Community Safety Strategy, resulting in a 24% reduction in knife crime, 29% reduction in robberies and 24% reduction in anti-social behaviour (2022–2025). His focus has been on tackling violence against women and girls (VAWG), improving youth safety, and targeting hotspots. He has developed Croydon’s first VAWG Action Plan and a new Youth Safety Plan backed by stronger enforcement, community investment, improved use of CCTV and technology. Since May 2026, in addition to Community Safety, his portfolio now covers the broader relationship with the voluntary, community and faith sector, including Croydon's work on Youth Justice.
Ola is Director of Employment & Skills at Business in the Community and a Trustee of Oasis Charitable Trust.
