I have lived in and around Purley for my whole life. My family have been in Croydon for over 50 years and I attended local schools.
I pride myself on being an accessible, active (and at times persistent) ward councillor who lives and breathes casework, working effectively with residents' associations, the Purley BID, the Purley & Woodcote Safer Neighbourhood Team and others.
My key priorities are fighting overdevelopment in Purley & Woodcote and preserving its special character, supporting Mayor Perry with district centre regeneration and getting a new leisure centre for Purley and ensuring that residents' streets are cleaned and bins collected without significant issues.
Since becoming your local councillor, I have worked with my ward colleagues and Mayor Jason Perry on:
· Securing major funding for flood mitigation measures in the Foxley Lane area, protecting local businesses like Lucinda’s, which had been under threat of closure
· Delivering Roke Open Space for children and young families to play and socialise
· Campaigning for road safety improvements, with a new pedestrian crossing on Pampisford Road expected soon
· Getting local roads like the Bridle Road and Woodcote Valley Road finally resurfaced
I'm also passionate about education and strengthening communities through opportunities for children and young people, having previously worked on social mobility and apprenticeships policy and want Croydon to be seen as a borough for the next generation.
My day job is in government relations working for a major bank and outside of work/politics, I enjoy seeing the world, learning Spanish and international television and cinema.
