Simon Brew has lived in Purley & Kenley for over 40 years and raised his three children here, and he now has eight grand-children. He is a motor-cycling enthusiast, and also keeps fit by cycling round Kenley Airfield, especially early in the morning; he plays Croquet at the Purley Bury Croquet club and duplicate Bridge at the Purley Sports Club. He is a strong supporter of the Purley & Woodcote Residents' Association, Purley Rotary, the  Purley Business Improvement District (BID) and he is Chair of the IT committee at the SouthEast Cancer Help Centre. He volunteers as an IT buddy at the Carer Support Centre in George Street, Croydon and with the Purley Cross Information Centre based in Purley Baptist Church. His early career was as a technical consultant for IBM for nearly 30 years, and he still enjoys tinkering with PCs.
