Purley & Woodcote
Group Secretary
Federation Treasurer

Simon Brew worked as a technical consultant and project manager for IBM for nearly 30 years, and he still runs a small PC maintenance business. Simon is a strong supporter of the Purley & Woodcote Residents' Association, Purley Rotary & Purley Businss Improvement District (BID); he also volunteers as an IT buddy at the Carer Support Centre in George Street, Croydon, and with the Purley Job Club based in Purley Baptist Church. He has lived in Purley for over 35 years and raised his three children here, and he now has eight grand-children. He is a motor-cycling and cycling enthusiast, and keeps fit by cycling round Kenley Airfield, especially early in the morning. He struggles to improve the standard of his Duplicate Bridge play.

Yet another email scam, this time TV licensing

Tuesday, 6 April, 2021

I received this scam email earlier today - it follows a familiar pattern which I hope is becoming familiar to regular readers.

email scam

SCAM emails - now offering a Council tax rebate

Tuesday, 16 March, 2021

I receive 1-2 scam emails every week and they're usually pretty easy to identify, mainly because the email address doesn't look right or there's an obvious spelling error, or the proposition itself is unrealistic, such as that a long-lost relative has left me lots of money.

offensive graffiti

Now, not even offensive graffiti is being removed :-(

Monday, 15 March, 2021

On 26 February, I reported that as a result of the many cuts caused by the Labour Council's reckless spending and investment policies, the Council's graffiti removal team team were all losing their jobs, and in future only "offensive" graffiti would be removed.
