Police Public Meeting held for the Norbury Community, 70+ people in attendance!

Norbury Police Meeting

It was excellent to see the #Norbury #Community turning out in such force last night, to ask the Metropolitan Police Borough Commander direct questions, concerning crime within the area, and what action the police have taken so far helping combat the problem that is increasingly engulfing our community!

In total over 70 members of the #community turned up to the meeting, which was excellent to see!

The public meeting was arranged and chaired by Steve O'Connell, who is the Conservative GLA member for Croydon and Sutton.
Jeff Boothe the Borough Commander for the Metropolitan Police in Croydon, together with members of his local Police teams in Norbury and Upper Norwood, answered questions from members of the community in attendance.

It became very apparent that as a community we need to assist the police with their efforts to help improve the area, constructively working towards a more cohesive society, who take responsibility for their community!

Croydon as a whole has a very passionate, active community; with many residents associations, and community groups working together to help create the type of Croydon we all want, and be proud to live in!

As a community, we have the power to change our area for the better, using initiative to report our suspicions and concerns to the local police. Working together to build their intelligence of local concerns, and finding the hotspots of crime and problems, so they know where to concentrate their efforts, and be the most effective!

The local police teams work very hard to engage with the community as much as possible, holding ward panel meetings, coffee mornings for local residents, one to one meetings on request etc.

If you would like to find out more information of where and when these type of meetings are taking place, please contact your local police team for further information:

We are very thankful for the continued hard work the Police is giving to our community, and we appreciate the borough commander, and local police teams to give us some of their vital time, and attend the public meeting, helping with residents’ concerns!
