New artwork for Old Lodge Lane Baptist Church Community Hub

The Kenley Community Advisory Group (KCAG) is a group made up of residents, residents association, friends associations, churches and schools in Kenley. The Group’s remit is to work with the council to agree investment in facilities, services and infrastructure. Funding is from the Greater London Authority’s Good Growth Fund, find out more about the Kenley Community Plan.

A big part of the project is improving community space and the ‘look and feel’ of Kenley. In June, a small workshop was held with representatives of the Old Lodge Lane Baptist Church community to define the brief for the mural. his month a project to design and create a mural for the Old Lodge Lane Baptist Church Community Hub has started. The selected artist, Frankie Curtis has held a co-design session with the church community and users of the Purley Food Stop, and 2nd session will be at New Valley Primary School.

We’re looking forward to seeing the results of the design sessions and the artwork developed! As local councillors, we are delighted to see the improvements coming to this part of the Kenley, with the opening of the community hub, a new parklet outside the parade, and now this new artwork.
