Godstone Road, Purley - A22 road closure this week

Tuesday, 24 January, 2023

We have been advised by SES Water that they will be digging holes for three nights on Friday 27, Saturday 28, and Sunday 29 January 2023 as part of investment to lay new or improve existing pipelines between some of their key treatment works and pumping stations. The works will be to lay a new section of main along the A22 Godstone Road this summer.

As a result of this digging, there will be a full road closure from 9pm to 5am on all three nights, finishing at 5am on Monday 30 January. SES has assured local councillors that they will have the road fully open from 5am each day with a diversion plan in place between 9am and 5pm. The road closure will be from the roundabout by Tesco up to Dale Road (Northern junction) along the A22 and details in full can be found here.

We have been assured that whilst there may be some noise, they will endeavour to keep it to a minimum.
