Edgehill Road/Purley Way traffic lights: Improved signal timings!

Edgehill Road

A big bug bear I've had is how long I've had to wait at the traffic lights at Edgehill Road, going towards Highfield Road through the Purley Way.

Often, only two cars can pass meaning there are long waits at the traffic lights.

I raised this with our London Assembly Member, Neil Garratt, and together we put pressure on TfL to get this rectified. The traffic signals at this site use a real-time traffic management system, that uses detectors to optimise the signal timings according to demand.

I am pleased to say that TfL have reviewed the signal operation at this location, and have subsequently amended the signals to offer more time to drivers on Edgehill Road.

I very much hope this improves things for local residents and my thanks go to Neil for supporting me with this, and to TfL for responding quickly.
