town centre

Many residents have been in touch over the summer and last few weeks to ask what is planned for the town centre.

I've been working with Cllr Bains to secure an update from council officers.

So far I have been provided with below - which may be of interest to residents.

I'll be reviewing the report and looking into the town centre engagement and local plan review. Please do get in touch if you would like to discuss.

"Firstly, thank you for your interest in the future of Croydon town centre.

Given your interest in the town centre, I would encourage you to read a report regarding the town centre considered by the Council’s Cabinet on 16th August 2021. The report can be view as item 9 via the following link - https://democracy.croydon.gov.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=183&MId=2509.

I hope this report provides further context to the current position regarding the town centre and your particular interest in the redevelopment of the Whitgift Centre.

I would also encourage you to engage with the proposed town centre engagement and Local Plan Review. If you would like to be added to the Council’s Local Plan notification database, please inform [email protected]. "
