Cllr Margaret Bird and Nikhil Thampi with results of litter clearing

A cold but sunny morning spent with a group of stalwart volunteers in the Bird Sanctuary in The Glade continuing the cutting back of the vegetation encroaching through the fence.  This time where St Johns Path meets The Glade.

Adrian Margaret and Nikhil tackled the littering too -finding left over take-aways, glass bottles beer cans, plastic bottles filled dog poo bags, even a child’s scooter, garden waste and rubble too.

Our next day is planned for February 19th 10-12noon as the vegetation is bursting into growth and the birds are already showing signs of starting to think about nesting.

Do come and join us so we can finish the boundary before we need to stop to let the Wildlife have their fun.

WATCH: One Year in Office

Wednesday, 10 May, 2023

Today is the one year anniversary of my election as the first ever Executive Mayor of Croydon.

I will always be grateful for the support that Croydon's voters gave me in that election. I have never taken this support for granted.
