Andy meets with New Addington Boxing Club and Play Place

Earlier this week Cllr. Andy Stranack (Shadow Cabinet Member for Safer Croydon & Communities) arranged a meeting between New Addington Boxing Club and Chris Hennis from Play Place to discuss a potential new home for the boxing club that has been badly let down by Croydon Labour Councillors.

Andy commented

" It is sad to hear how the boxing club has been let down by Labour in Croydon. Labour has told the club that the Council can no longer support the club and has left the volunteers and between 50-100 local young people with no venue to run the historic and successful boxing club from.

I am convinced that we can bring local voluntary organisations and business partners together to provide a bright and prosperous future for the boxing club and provide health, ambition and hope to young people living in New Addington. Tragically, it would appear that Labour have lost the ability to work in partnership with residents the voluntary and business sectors."
