A welcome trend in recent years is the increase in fairs and carnivals. South Norwood in particular is no exception. Recently, along with many thousands of others, I attended the South Norwood Festival in the park.
Streatham and Croydon RFC go from strength to strength. The Brigstock road club have consolidated their league place after 2 successive promotion seasons, reversing a long trend of playing decline. But moreover they are on track to become a real Community Hub in North Croydon.
A date for your diaries, Sunday 7th of July, in the Park. A dedicated band of local people and businesses are cracking on and organising this event which goes from strength to strength. I am very pleased to support them.
On Thursday 2nd May, we have the chance to kick Sadiq Khan out of City Hall, re-elect our excellent London Assembly Member Neil Garratt and elect Conservatives on the London List.
As the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Croydon East, I like to get out and about listening to local people’s views about how to improve our local community.
We the undersigned call upon Lambeth Council to withdraw the trial Streatham Wells low traffic neighbourhood (LTN), implemented on 23rd October 2023, for the following reasons:
“We the undersigned call on the Mayor and his Administration to introduce a weight restriction on Heavy Good Vehicles (HGVs) which use Plough Lane as a short cut. This should address the volume and speed of these vehicles, road damage, increased noise, and pollution levels.
As local Councillors we have been extremely disappointed to hear of NatWest's plans to close our branch in South Croydon, used by a number of local residents.
We are particularly disappointed with the lack of consultation, especially when the branch seems to be well used.
