Shadow Cabinet Member for Clean Green Croydon

Helen Redfern has lived in Croydon since 2004 and quickly became involved in local activities such as delivering Meals on Wheels and acting as a Street Champion. She attends meetings of the Purley Oaks and Riddlesdown Police Ward Panels and attended the predecessor panels in Sanderstead and Purley. Helen works with a number of residents associations including those in Riddlesdown, Purley & Woodcote and Montpelier & KIngsdown Road where she hears and and acts on residents concerns. Helen attends St Mary’s Church, Purley Oaks and has served on the District Church Council. She provides perinatal courses to expectant and new parents and has provided training lectures to midwives at Croydon University Hospital. Helen is married with 2 children who attend local schools. They are active in Croydon sports clubs and enjoy walking on Riddlesdown Common.

I have received reports of foxes taking food waste, presumably from food waste bins, and spreading the food around the neighbourhood.

It is easy to stop this happening by ensuring that our food waste bins are locked - the foxes are smart, but not smart enough to open a locked bin.

The deadline for local businesses to apply for the Local Restriction Support grants is the 31st March 2021.

Reported Camp on Riddlesdown

I received a report earlier today about a 'camp' on Riddlesdown. This appears to comprise a brick surrounded fire, at least 7 items of furniture and masses of litter.

I have reported this to the Head Ranger and to the local Police Team.

Riddlesdown Residents will begin to see the return of pupils to Riddlesdown Collegiate from Monday 8th March, I am sure it will be a really exciting time for pupils, most of whom will not have seen their friends for quite some time.
