Helen Redfern has lived in Croydon since 2004 and moved to Sanderstead in 2009, quickly getting involved with activities such as delivering Meals on Wheels, acting as a Street Champion and participating in litter picks. She lives with her husband and two children who attended Atwood Primary Academy.
Her key successes as a councillor have been to keep open Purley Oaks Childrens Centre, which serves many local families, and to achieve positive outcomes for families experiencing mental health crisis and unacceptable housing conditions. Helen is an active member of the Planning Committee and Ethics Committee and has previously served on the Corporate Parenting Board and as the Shadow Cabinet Member for Clean Green Croydon and Shadow Cabinet Member for Children, Young People & Learning.
Helen works within the criminal justice system. In her spare time she enjoys walking in Sanderstead Plantation and Kings Wood and attends St Mary’s Church where she has served on the District Church Council.
