UK Power Networks (UKPN) are carrying out an essential repair on the extra high voltage electricity network. They are excavating in the verge and footway opposite the BP Garage. They are installing a lane closure on Kent Gate Way and Selsdon Park Road for southbound traffic and vehicles will be chicaned around their works. The lanes are due to be reopened on 10th December.
However unfortunately the gang did not turned up to work today (Monday) due to illness. The traffic management scheme cannot be lifted because an excavation has already been dug. Another gang is being resourced but cannot get there until tomorrow.
There will be continuous working in the first phase, from tomorrow, to get the excavation ready for jointing. It is hoped that the jointing team will have extended working to still be off the road on 10th December but this may not be possible.
