Reprieve for free parking in Selsdon High Street

Some good news for the Selsdon High Street, and all the other High Streets across Croydon where there is 30 minutes or one hour free parking - the Council have cancelled their decision to start charging from 1st January 2021 and are reconsidering. That doesn't mean that the decision won't be reinstated, but there is hope.

At last night's Cabinet the decision was made to re-evaluate the options. A new proposal will be made to the Transport Management Advisory Committee ('TMAC') in Spring/ Summer this year.

Councillor Ali, the Cabinet Member responsible, agreed with me in response to a question that the decision would be made based on evidence, and on the specific needs of the local area. My submission to Councillor Ali is attached.
