As we celebrate black history in the UK in October, a month-long activity was created to highlight the achievement of ethnic minorities in Croydon and the UK in general.
I attended the quiz night event with colleagues including Cllr. Ola Kolade as part of this, organized by the BME forum in Croydon. It was an interesting and enlightening activity for me personally, as I got to learn a lot more about ethnic minority contribution to the religious, cultural, and economic evolution of Croydon and the UK.
It was an event that relied on team play, fairness, and reliance on each other regardless of ethnicities. Those are the traits that the event signify and hopefully, we could all work together this way, to improve our fortunes as we create the global UK brand.
