Brick by Brick grabs residents' amenity space for bins and parking

Shipping Containers next to communal area

Shocked and angry residents of Warbank Crescent have told us of their very serious concerns about Brick by Brick’s plans to take away their amenity space for bins and parking bays.

The shipping container design of the new homes being built which now block their open views is bad enough, but letting Brick by Brick take away their community space is appalling.

Residents have for very many years used this space for hanging out their washing, for communal recreational activities and as a safe place for their children to play. Some of the flats in the block immediately adjacent to this concrete square have no other outside space so this area has been invaluable for them over many years and especially so of course during the Covid pandemic.

Croydon’s Labour Council has failed to listen to the residents of New Addington for a long time and this terrible situation just emphasises how disinterested they are in resident’s concerns.

New Addington Conservatives have raised this issue with the Council and have also appealed directly to the Leader of the Council to do the right thing – and leave this space for residents to use and enjoy.
