Jade moved locally to Park Hill and Whitgift just over ten years ago. It was close to her family and has great transport links.
After graduating Jade worked as a researcher in Parliament in the House of Commons and the House of Lords advising ministers and peers and now works as a local government adviser for London Councils, using what she’s learnt to help secure cross party agreement to deliver the best services across the boroughs for all of London’s residents.
Jade has been working over the last few months to make a difference for Park Hill and Whitgift. From ward walking with the local policing team, to litterpicking, attending meetings with the Park Hill Residents Association, working with the Whitgift Resident Association and many other community groups including St Matthews and the Asian Resource Centre of Croydon.
Jade is committed to protecting our green spaces and has been working closely with Friends of Lloyd Park and Park Hill Park. She’s also been working with residents to tackle issues around speeding, graffiti, failed rubbish collections; and to oppose inappropriate planning applications that could adversely affect Park Hill and Whitgift. Jade wants to ensure Park Hill and Whitgift remains a great place to live for everyone and hopes by working with together with everyone in our fantastic community we can do this.
As your Councillor, Jade promises to:
Oppose inappropriate development – the Labour Council doesn’t understand the unique character of Park Hill and Whitgift, Jade will work to protect it from oversized and unrealistic development that would be intrusive and out of keeping with the area.
Protect green spaces - Lloyd Park and Park Hill Park are central to our community. Jade will work to protect and maintain these spaces, keeping them clean, accessible and open for us all to enjoy.
Keep Park Hill and Whitgift safe and tidy – Jade will work to ensure good links between residents and businesses with the local policing team to tackle issues such as speeding. I will lead on tackling fly tipping and organise regular litter picks.
Support local community activity and groups – from events taking place in Park Hill Park to Park Runs in Lloyd Park, Jade wants to work with all community groups to help deliver new projects, promote their events and tackle issues they are facing.
