I had the privilege recently of visiting Croydon Councils first Fostering Hub

Our brilliant foster carers look after  our children who come into the care of the Council. For these vulnerable children coming into care is the most significant change in their lives and of course we want a loving stable home for these very vulnerable children and young people.

We are very lucky in Croydon to have excellent local foster carers. While fostering is rewarding problems can happen from time to time. This is where the Fostering Hub can help.  Run by a very experienced Foster Carer with a small team of other experienced foster carers they can support and mentor new foster carers, help with problems and offer respite for young people that are finding life difficult in their foster home. Clinical Therapists are available to support the foster carers as well as the children and young people.
I was so impressed with the foster carers I met and talked to at this Fostering Hub. I hope we can look to roll out another Fostering Hub in the near future.
