Veolia delays to bin collections

Croydon bin collections

Veoila are experiencing staffing problems at the moment, with the biggest challenge being having sufficient drivers with an HGV licence. The crews are working up to 10pm at night. 

Due to the staffing shortage, the collections are being prioritised in this order: 

  • General waste collections  
  • Food waste collections  
  • Clinical waste collections  
  • Recycling waste collections  
  • Garden waste collections 

Whilst the garden waste collection is suspended, the message is that bins should still be left out for later collection. 

We've already had a number of messages from people asking about refunds for the paid for garden waste collection. The Director has said that there has been no decision on whether refunds will be made, presumably waiting to see how long the suspension lasts.
