I have been passed the text of letter from SGN that will be delivered to residents of Court Hill, the contents of which will impact on other residents who use these roads and a cut-through:
"We’re writing to provide you with some information about our work to upgrade the local gas supply network in the Court Hill Road area of South Croydon. Our project involves the essential replacement of old metal gas mains with new plastic pipe to ensure we continue to provide a safe and reliable gas supply to the local area. Our contractor KLT Contractors will undertake this work on our behalf.
In consultation with the Croydon Council, from Monday 25 October our engineers will be replacing the gas pipe in Court Hill Road, at the roundabout with Brian Avenue, for approximately four weeks.
For everyone’s safety, we will need to install temporary traffic lights at the roundabout with Brian Avenue and close Court Hill Road, in both directions, between the roundabout and Westfield Avenue.
Signed diversions will be in place via Purley Downs Road, Sanderstead Hill and Rectory Park will be in place for motorists.
To minimise impact to the local community, we have agreed with the local authority to carry out part of our essential works across the October school holidays.
We have further network upgrades to complete in Briton Close, Briton Crescent and Downsway. We continue to work closely with Croydon Council to plan the timing of these upgrades and we’ll provide further details once confirmed.
Our engineers are be happy to answer questions at any time during our project. Please remember to keep a safe distance when speaking to our team or passing our site.
We understand that roadworks can be frustrating and thank you for your patience and understanding, enabling us to carry out these essential works.
If you have any further questions, please let me know.
Kind regards
