I was pleased to see the below planning application come in from JCDecaux:
25/03838/FUL | The installation of a multifunctional communication Hub including defibrillator and advertisement display. | Pavement O/s 956 Brighton Road Purley CR8 2LP
It is very welcome that there is a push for a 24-hour defibrillator in Purley district centre in an area with increasing footfall. This is the perfect location and I believe this proposal will only enhance our street scene.
I have previously pushed for another defibrillator in Purley but the Council does not run a scheme in the Borough, meaning we are dependent on outside applicants.
Given the potential to save lives, I have formally registered my support for this application. This means that if council officers recommend refusal, it will go to the planning committee, where I will speak in support and hope members of the committee grant approval.
