We recently published an article about improvements to Little Roke footbridge in Kenley, which prompted some questions about whether Stumps Lane footbridge, at the Whyteleafe end of Kenley, could also be spruced up.
I popped down for a look on 30th March and could see that it could do with a clean-up, so I submitted a request via the LoveCleanStreets app to sweep the bridge and footpath and trim back some overgrown vegetation. I returned to check progress on Sunday 5th April and was pleased to see a big improvement.

I know there were previously drainage issues at the foot of the bridge, which I reported to the council towards the end of 2024, and a new drain was then installed in January 2025.
Part of the charm of living in Kenley is the abundance of trees, which of course shed leaves and can grow over footpaths. If you notice that Stumps Lane, or any other public right of way, is getting untidy again, or the new drain is getting blocked, please report it directly via the LoveCleanStreets app, or contact Gayle and Ola for support.
