SGN have advised of upcoming gas network upgrades in the Purley area.  These works are part of a vital programme to modernise the local gas network and ensure a safe, secure, and reliable gas supply for the future.

What are they doing?

SGN has appointed contractor WCB to replace ageing metal gas mains with new polyethylene (plastic) pipes on their behalf. This is part of a wider upgrade to replace old cast iron infrastructure with safer, longer-lasting materials that are less prone to leaks and disruption.

  • Work duration: 4.5 weeks.

  • Emergency access will be preserved

Staying Informed

The team will be on site and available to speak with you throughout the project. If you have any concerns, questions, or specific access requirements, please don’t hesitate to speak with one of their engineers but if you are having trouble, please feel free to drop your Purley & Woodcote councillors an email for the roads above, with the exception of Riddlesdown Road>Mitchley Avenue which comes under Purley Oaks & Riddlesdown Road.
