I was delighted to attend and speak at the opening of the Samuel Taylor Coleridge Centre Family Hubs
Croydon Council was one of the 75 Councils funded by the Government to deliver Family Hubs.
This is the second one to open in Croydons. The first was opened at Woodlands in Selsdon with an emphasis on early years. STC Hub is adolescent facing.
Family Hubs are a game changer in how services are delivered to families in Croydon. They are open to parents and children from pregnancy to 19 years of age and up to 25 to children and young people with special education needs.
Crucially services to families are delivered by a wide partnership that includes faith and voluntary sector, community groups, the NHS, DWP, Education, Children’s Social Care, Schools Admissions and many more
A parent with a young baby and a teenager can walk into a Family Hubs and get help and support for both
A team of navigators can direct parents to the most suitable support either within the Hub or in the community
We are now working on outreach centres and a third Family Hub
