All Saints Sanderstead

Councillors Helen Redfern and Lynne Hale, together with Mayor Jason Perry, attended this evening’s Service of Collation at All Saints Church, where Revd Doug McHardie was formally appointed. He was warmly welcomed by members of the community, including the churchwardens, the Mayor, the Rotary Club, Churches Together, and the residents’ association.

The service was led by the Bishop of Croydon, Rosemarie Mallett, and the sermon was given by Archdeacon Greg Prior, who reminded us that “the main thing is that the main thing is the main thing” — and yes, that did make sense!

Revd Doug is already well known to many in Sanderstead, having previously served as the vicar at Christ Church Purley. We extend our congratulations to Revd Doug on his appointment and look forward to working with him as he serves the parish and wider Sanderstead community in the years ahead.
