Good morning all,

Please find below the policing update for November.

Local officers took time this month to support community events, including attending Remembrance Sunday services across the area. Uniformed staff joined residents, veterans and local organisations in honouring those who have served, laying wreaths and helping ensure the commemorations ran safely and smoothly. Their presence reflected our continued commitment to community engagement and supporting important traditions.

Operationally, the team has remained busy with several successful recoveries of stolen vehicles following targeted patrols and intelligence-led enquiries. Officers have also continued proactive patrols in known antisocial behaviour hotspots, providing reassurance to residents and responding swiftly to emerging issues. In addition, a live facial recognition operation was deployed this month in central Croydon which many of our officers took part in, helping to identify individuals wanted for various offences and contributing to ongoing efforts to keep the area safe.

This month also saw a strong focus on community engagement through initiatives such as street briefings, Cuppa with a Copper and our continued roll out of Met Engage. Officers met with residents in local cafes and community spaces, offering an informal opportunity for people to raise concerns, ask questions, or simply get to know their neighbourhood policing team. Street briefings also offered similar opportunities for residents to engage with officers in a relaxed setting. These sessions continue to strengthen relationships, build trust, and ensure the public feel heard and supported. Alongside other engagement events, they form an important part of the team’s commitment to working closely with the community to address local priorities together. Officers also attended the re-launch of the Selsdon Community Centre along with other local representatives and residents. We really enjoyed meeting all those who attended. For more information on where these are being held, please visit the Met website and search for your local area.

Best wishes,

PC Williams
