We have received numerous enquiries about the filming that has already started in Sanderstead so we wanted to provide an update on what we know so far.
Filming is currently taking place in Purley Downs Road between Briton Hill Crescent and Sanderstead Hill and will also take place along the parade on Limpsfield Road and within Sanderstead Rec. We were informed very late in the process of the planned road closures, traffic suspensions and bus diversions, many of which I found to be unsatisfactory e.g. road closures were to take place during the morning and afternoon/evening peak and the 359 bus route was to be diverted away from Brighton Road and Purley Downs Road up Downs Court Road and Rectory Park. I have managed to have the traffic management times adjusted to avoid peak times and no closures will take place whilst the 359 bus is running meaning that diversions will not be necessary.
The negotiations are still ongoing but as we are receiving enquiries I think it’s worth noting here what we know at this point as I am sure that many residents will want to make alternative travel arrangements:

We have been advised that the production company has consulted with local residents, businesses, a school and nursery. I remain concerned about the impact on parking near to the parade as it has been requested that all the bays along the parade will be suspended and this may have significant knock-on effects; we are still awaiting confirmation as to whether the Council has approved these suspensions. I’m also aware that pavements have been blocked and I have been repeatedly reporting this so that pedestrians can still get through.
As there have a number of changes to this schedule, we will update this page if significant changes are made again.
