As your ward councillors, we have continually lobbied for more road resurfacing across Purley & Woodcote — including meetings with Highways officers and site visits — and since 2022 the ward has seen significantly more investment in this area.
We are especially delighted that a number of local roads that residents and we have long called for have now been included in the 2026/27 Highways Capital Programme. We have been advised of the following rough timescales:
- Foxley Hill Road – Currently programmed to commence on Tuesday 14 July 2026.
- Monahan Avenue – Awaiting confirmation of construction dates; however, the scheme is currently targeted for completion by September 2026 at the latest.
- Purley Knoll – Awaiting confirmation of construction dates; currently targeted for completion by September 2026 at the latest.
- Manor Way – Awaiting confirmation of construction dates; currently targeted for completion by September 2026 at the latest.
- Partridge Knoll – Successfully completed on 28 May 2026.
- Plough Lane – Patching works are currently programmed for 28 October 2026.
- Purley Vale – Currently programmed for implementation on 29 October 2026.
- Whytecliffe Road South – Provisionally programmed for July; however, this will need to be rescheduled due to clashes with other planned works. A revised date will be issued once confirmed.
- Hartley Hill - Provisionally planned for 23 August 2026, subject to the necessary permit approvals being granted.
- Grovelands Road - Currently underway.
All dates remain subject to change. We will share further updates as construction dates are confirmed, and look forward to seeing these long-overdue improvements delivered in the months ahead.
