I am extremely pleased that representations that I have made to Council Officers are resulting in improvements to the road surface in Mayfield Road, which will take place this coming week.
Resurfacing will take place on 5th - 6th August and then the gullys will be cleaned on 7th August.
We have been notified that traffic management will necessitate road closure. I have asked for detail on this although the best course of action will be to avoid Mayfield Road over these three days.
Key arrangements are as follows:
• Partial Resurfacing works commence 5-6th August (08:00–17:00)
• Works extents: Mayfield Road : (Prop No: 41 and Prop No: 127 )
• Traffic management: Road closures during resurfacing operations
• Parking suspension: 07:30hrs – 17:00hrs on 5th-7th August 2026 within the works area
• Additional parking controls will remain in place where required until completion of gully cleansing on 7th August 2026
• Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout
• Vehicular access to properties may be restricted at times and should be kept to a minimum during working hours
• Advance warning signage will be installed prior to works commencing
• All works are subject to change at short notice due to factors such as adverse weather conditions, with updates communicated via on-site signage
Residents and road users are advised to plan journeys in advance and consider alternative routes where appropriate, as some disruption is expected during the works period.
Letters have been delivered to properties that are directly impacted.
