One of our key priorities for Purley & Woodcote is more road resurfacing, which was practically non-existent under the previous Labour administration.
Over the last four years under Mayor Perry and this Conservative administration, one thing is we have seen a real increase in local road resurfacing following lobbying from your ward councillors.
I am pleased to have been advised that the following roads will be resurfaced imminently:
· Reedham Drive – Works are scheduled to take place from Tuesday 17th February, following which gully cleansing will take place. This will result in parking suspensions only.
· Woodcote Valley Road (partial between junction of Foxley Lane and Monahan Avenue and then to Manor Wood Road) – Works are scheduled to take place on Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th February, following which gully cleansing will take place. This will result in parking suspensions only.
Please be aware that some disruption is likely due to the nature and location of the works. Operations will run from 08:00 to 17:00, so if you need vehicular access during these hours, we recommend planning an alternative route and allowing extra time for your journey.
Local residents and businesses should have received a letter-drop notification.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused but also welcome this progress.
Cllr Samir Dwesar
