I was disappointed to see the state of the road surface on Purley Vale and a number of residents raised this with me when door knocking in the area.
I am pleased that following conversations with Council officers, it has been agreed that Purley Vale has been added to the 2026/27 reserved resurfacing list and that resurfacing will take place once additional funding becomes available.
Officers agreed with me that carriageway surface is in poor condition, showing signs of deterioration due to weather, age, and traffic usage, although it remains structurally sound, safe, and passable for vehicles.
I will keep pushing officers so this work is done as quickly as possible in the next financial year, but my thanks for them for listening to mine and residents' concerns.
