Based at the Purley United Reform Church, the Purley Food Hub is entirely volunteer-run. The service provides free food parcels for individuals and families living in CR8 (Purley), CR2 (South Croydon), CR5 (Coulsdon) and CR0 4 (Waddon). People are referred by various agencies, including the Jobs Centre, Croydon Council, local Churches, schools and GP practices. Three meals a day for three days is provided.
Each month, a donation priority list is published, which I attach. For this month, please see below:
- Small bottles of squash - orange, blackcurrant etc
- Non spicy meat meals
- 500g packets of pasta and long grain rice
- Long life full fat milk cartons
- Small packets of sugar
- Peanut butter jars and meat and fish paste
- Custard packets (requiring only water)
- Tinned rice pudding
- Sanitary pads
- Small shampoo bottles

Donations can be dropped off at the Purley United Reform Church on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings between 9am and noon or at their in-store and roadside collection points here.
