We were so pleased to hear that the Purley Business Improvement District (Purley BID) has been renewed for another five-year term following a renewal vote amongst Purley businesses.
The mandate is overwhelming with 70% of businesses voting in favour of renewal, including 90% in favour by rateable renewal. This strong endrosement reflects the trust and commitment of our local business community to continue investing in Purley's future. We look forward to seeing them build on the success to date as Purley enters an exciting chapter with a number of projects in the pipeline.
Our congratulations to Chairman, Marlon Johnson, CEO, Simon Cripps and Engagement Manager, Catherine Garrad for all their hard work to secure this result. They do so much to secure and retain local businesses, as well as work collaboratively with the Purley & Woodcote Residents Association and Purley & Woodcote Safer Neighbourhood Team as well as the local councillors to ensure a joined-up appproach.
We are very lucky as Purley & Woodcote councillors to have a good relationship with them and we work together day-in-day out for the betterment of the Purley District Centre. From delivering and supporting Purley in Bloom to securing funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to lobbying on business rates, we're all aware that there is much more to do.
