Purley Beeches Working Party

News from Purley Beeches working group.

Welcome to the first work party of 2025 and a big thanks you to all those who turned out for our amazing December bonfire, the weather was atrocious, but the amount of timber we cleared was stupendous.

Dave Staniforth has taken over planning and running our work parties and his instructions for Saturday 18th are below.

Tasks: A number of trees have come down recently and we need to clear the main path and several of the well-used minor paths and tracks. Lots of sawing and carrying to do. The cut wood we will use to build bug hotels, create path edges and the remainder to be taken to the bonfire site.

Safety: We will be using sharp tools, so please wear appropriate clothing - gloves and sturdy footwear.

We also have a new First Aider, Cat Dubber, who successfully completed a first aid course and is anxious to apply nothing more than the odd sticky plaster.

Fingers crossed that the dry weather continues until the 18th but come what may I look forward to another mega turnout, see you there.
