Proposed 7.5 tonne HGV weight restriction – Plough Lane, Highfield Road and Russell Hill area

Last year, the Purley & Woodcote councillors ran a petition calling on the Council to introduce a weight restriction on Heavy Good Vehicles (HGVs) on Plough Lane to address the volume and speed of these vehicles, road damage, increased noise and pollution levels. This was submitted by Councillor Holly Ramsey.

Plough Lane covers both the London Borough of Croydon and the London Borough of Sutton. Sutton Council have been consulting residents and we are delighted that Croydon Council has decided to listen to our calls and consult on introducing a 7.5 tonne weight restriction in the Plough Lane, Highfield Road and Russell Hill area (covering Plough Lane, Highfield Road, Hillcrest Road, Ensign Close, Atalanta Close, Russell Hill, More Close and Russell Hill Road).

A letter has been sent to residents and businesses within the vicinity and we attach details outlining the proposal and rationale in more detail. To give your views, you have until Wednesday 12th February and this can be done via the Council’s consultation survey - https://tinyurl.com/3k38mmxf or using the QR code in the attached document.
