Community Garden Jarvis/Selsdon roads

I was delighted to support a request from a local resident to create a Community Garden on the small green at the junction of Jarvis and Selsdon Roads. Following a meeting with her I contacted the various departments of the Council to check whether it would be possible in this location. It’s fair to say it took quite some to get the meetings arranged and permission given. Residents will start small planting bulbs for a spring display. I am so pleased they have named it the Rail View Garden, a nod to the Railview Public House that stood on Selsdon Road for a very long time. Great to see our local history remembered. I would also like to thank the resident for her determination to see a Community Garden here and I look forward to seeing it change and develop. It will really make a difference to our local area
