We’re pleased to report that during April a thorough clean-up took place along the wooded section of Old Lodge Lane. This area is particularly challenging to maintain due to the absence of pavements, the narrow width of the road, and the way litter becomes caught in the vegetation along the verges.
Given the sharp bends and restricted space, the safety of the Council’s contractor operatives was important. To allow the work to be carried out safely, a temporary road closure was arranged at both ends of the affected stretch. Thanks to these arrangements, crews were able to carry out a deep clean—removing litter, clearing detritus, tidying bank edges, and addressing a fly-tip adjacent to the road.
It’s great to see the road looking so much better. As rubbish seems to accumulate quickly on this stretch, we'd be grateful if you could help us by continuing to report any fly-tipping or littering through the LoveCleanStreets app. Thank you.
