New Planning Applications Across Purley & Woodcote

  • Tweet
Monday, 23 January, 2023

Purley & Woodcote has received more planning applications than any other ward in Croydon besides Fairfield, which is the town centre. As such, I’m used to notifications of new planning applications coming in and lodging objections/referrals where necessary.

I wanted to alert residents to some new applications which have recently come in and encourage you to make your representations known if you live close by.

Either myself or my ward colleague, Cllr Simon Brew will be referring these applications to the Planning Committee. Our other ward colleague, Cllr Holly Ramsey is unable to do this as she is currently a member of the Planning Committee and is therefore required to remain neutral.

A referral from a councillor means if Council officers recommend approval, the application will automatically go to the Planning Committee for consideration. However, we still urge residents to give their views so officers and the Committee recognise the strength of feeling.

To comment:

  • Use the online comments facility following instruction on the online planning register;
  • Email dmcomments@croydon.gov.uk;
  • Or send a letter to: Development Management, Sustainable Communities, Regeneration and Economic Recovery Department, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon CR0 1EA.

Please quote the application number in any correspondence.

As a councillor, I am determined to stand up on behalf of local residents and challenge inappropriate applications that constitute overdevelopment and will speak against these planning applications if they go to Committee.

Simon, Samir and Holly are hard at work for you in Purley & Woodcote. We deal with about 40 casework items every month, ranging from missed bin collections and social services issues through to children's schooling and of course fighting for local people on planning issues.

REVEALED: The true scale of Croydon Labour’s toxic financial mismanagement

Tuesday, 22 November, 2022

Croydon Labour’s financial mismanagement has required the Council to issue a new Section 114 notice.
Official reports detail “mistakes” made in the previous Administration’s budgets – which Labour claimed were “balanced” – worth tens of millions of pounds.
