I was pleased to attend the Open Day/Art Exhibition at Langley Oaks to mark Dementia Action Week. I met with Peace Olaniyan and staff members and residents and carers and I had the opportunity to talk about the good work we were undertaking at the council under the leadership of Mayor Jason Perry and the great partnership work which led to Croydon becoming a Dementia Friendly borough. Residents and carers are supported here and at Marsh Willow in Selhurst. Residents who are over 65 and have a diagnosis of Dementia including Alzheimer's are supported to achieve the best possible quality of life in an environment which is relaxed, enjoyable, cognitively stimulating, sociable and secure. The artwork was amazing. I have included a few pictures.
