Labour's proposal to close Purley leisure centre :-(

Labour's administration have cynically chosen to wait till after the result of the DEMOC referendum was known before announcing that they plan to close the pool and Leisure centre permanently. See here:

https://news.croydon.gov.uk/closure-proposal-for-purley-leisure-centre/

This is despite a 4500 signature petition which the Conservatives lodged nearly a year ago, and while another petition has gained thousands of signatures more recently. The pool and leisure centre is at the heart of Purley and it's absurd to suggest that residents from Purley Sanderstead Coulsdon & Kenley can use the "nearby" pools at Waddon and even New Addington, which is a whole 6 miles away.

The announcement says that there will be a "consultation" on the proposed closure; I don't yet know the details, but please participate as soon as they are announced.

The fight goes on to get it re-opened as quickly as possible.
