Kenley's Wattenden Pond gets a refresh

Working hard
Smile!

I spent Saturday morning supporting Kenley residents association with an organised clean up of Wattenden Pond. The area had significantly overgrown, resulting in a blind spot for motorists and a safety concern for road users. The installation of the pond began in 2012 but unfortunately it has since dried up over the years. Due to its common land status, it is a challenge to get statutory organisations like Croydon Council to help maintain the area but it was very encouraging to see residents come out and support the clear out. There are now considerations about reviving the pond and introducing a wild garden. If you would like to help out with future sessions or provide funding for the upkeep of the area, please contact Chairman@kenleyra.org.uk

I'm local to Kenley, where I live with my wife Fiona and our two-year-old daughter Chloe. We love Kenley and have chosen to make the local area our home for our young family.

Gayle and Ola work hard to ensure Kenley’s green spaces and unique character is protected.

They ensure the needs of residents are taken care of and the concerns of Kenley residents are heard; such as inappropriate planning applications, road safety & parking provisions.

I would like to thank every single Croydonian who put their trust in me at this election. I am so proud to have been elected Mayor of this great Borough. It was also fantastic to see the local Conservatives secure some fantastic new gains on the Council, including in Waddon and New Addington.
