Kenley councillors gave been alerted to works to upgrade the gas network along Godstone Road in Whyteleafe. The project will involve replacing the existing metal gas mains with modern polyethylene pipe to help ensure a safe and reliable gas supply for the future.
The works start from 20th July.
We’d like to thank Councillor Deano Cline, who represents Whyteleafe on Tandridge District Council who has passed the information over to us as it’s happening within his area, but will of course impact Kenley residents.
We are grateful to Deano for bringing this to our attention. With Kenley and Whyteleafe sharing a boundary, it is important that councillors work closely together on issues that impact residents on both sides of the border.
SGN have provided the following information, for further details, see the letter below.
Godstone Road - 20 July until December
Temporary multi-way traffic lights will be in opera on from Whyteleafe Roundabout to the junction with Salmons Lane. The bus stop on Godstone Road will be suspended—please check with your bus operator for service updates.
Station Road – 20 July for approximately six weeks
To ensure the safety of everyone around the worksite, we will need to close Station Road at its junction with Godstone Road. A signed diversion will be in place, and access will be maintained for residents and businesses.
Edgeworth Close – 31 August for approximately nine weeks
Our engineers will be working in Edgeworth Close at the junction with Hillside Road. While we are working in Edgeworth Close, some of our excavations may be on the edge of the road and will appreciate your care and attention while using the road.
Salmons Lane – 2 November for six weeks
We will be working in Salmons Lane at the junction with Godstone Road (level crossing). To ensure the safety of everyone around our worksite we need to close this junction while we complete our work.
A signed diversion will be in place, and access will be maintained for residents and businesses.
Parking bays located close to our work areas may need to be suspended.
