The holidays are all behind us now and there’s only the darker evening and cooler temperatures to look forward to, how depressing, but hang on, there’s a FoPB work party next Saturday, friendly companions, some exercise and a free chocolate bar, what more would you be needing.
Seriously we really do need as much help as possible to clear the summer growth of brambles and nettles, around benches, poo bins, new trees etc. a continuous battle. The good news is that the Council have recently deployed their new grass cutting machinery in the Beeches for the second time this year, not only cutting the main green area, but all the other grass areas as well and for the first time in many years the Beeches is looking good.
Please join us at the Green Room at 10am, stay as long or as little as you can and bring coffee or other refreshments. The usual safety advice follows. When finished using a tool please leave it safely so that nobody, including nosy dogs can get hurt, wear stout footwear, gloves and clothing. For those that have, please bring, loppers, bow saws, rakes etc.
On Sunday 29th September, there will be a MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT CAKES IN THE PARK. From 10.15 to 11.45 in the tennis court. Mouth-watering cakes for sale, eat there and then, or take away, in which case bring a plastic box to carry them home and of course some cash to pay for them, Maybe even bake a cake or two and donate it to the charity. What better way to give to a good cause.
